Sliding scale therapy in
Denver, Lone Tree, & Greenwood Village

Making therapy in Denver more affordable and accessible

To help more people seeking affordable therapy in Denver, Lone Tree, and Greenwood Village, each of our therapists offer a limited number sliding scale therapy appointments for clients who have financial limitations or needs. If you’ve looked into affordable therapy in Denver, finding therapists who offer sliding scale appointments can be a great way to get high quality, affordable counseling.

Each of our therapists in our Denver, Douglas County, and Greenwood Village offices has at least three slots for sliding scale clients at reduced rates. This allows us to make therapy much more affordable for over 50 clients every week throughout the Denver area, which is roughly equal to the total number of clients that many small therapy private practices in Denver see in a week.

There’s a wide range of costs for therapy in Denver, so we do our best to help our clients find the right match with one of our therapists and provide them with accessible, effective counseling services at a rate that they can afford. While we have limited availability for sliding scale services, we want to help people find the right therapist for them.

Sliding scale vs. insurance

It can be difficult to find the right fit with an in-network therapist whose services are covered by insurance. Some out-of-network therapists, some with rates over $200 per session in the area, may not be a fit for your budget.

We started offering sliding scale therapy to help more people living in our community who are seeking therapy. With the cost of living reaching all-time highs in the South Denver area, we can help provide therapy to those in need with flexible rates.

Affordable and high quality therapy and counseling

With sliding scale therapy sessions, our therapists use the same highly effective therapy methods, including EMDR, DBT, IFS, CBT, EFT and more, to meet our clients’ needs. Depending on your schedule, all of our therapists can meet with clients online for teletherapy sessions as well.

We want our clients to have a positive and empowering experience with therapy, and we do our best to work with our clients’ specific needs from both a financial and therapeutic perspective to provide affordable counseling services.

More affordable therapy options

One of the most common ways to find sliding scale therapy or affordable therapy from a reputable private practice is by seeing a member of the team who is currently in graduate school. Especially if you’re seeing a therapist for the first time, seeing a therapy intern can be much more affordable affordable, very effective, and you’ll know that you’re seeing someone who is being supervised by a licensed therapist.

If all of our therapists’ sliding scale spots are full, we also recommend Open Paths Collective, a non-profit organization where therapists offer a limited number of appointments at reduced rates. There are many therapists in Denver who list sliding scale spots on their website, and that can be a great option that makes therapy more affordable.

Affordable Ketamine therapy

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy has become one of the most requested types of therapy for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and trauma. We offer in-person Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in Denver, Lone Tree, and Greenwood Village, but the 2-3 hour sessions cost $500 and aren’t covered by any type of insurance.

To make Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy more affordable and accessible to people living in remote areas, online services like Mindbloom provide remote, at-home Ketamine-assisted therapy and treatment programs at lower rates.

Using insurance for therapy

If you have PPO insurance and want to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider, we can provide a superbill for your insurance provider as an out-of-network provider. Especially if you’ve already met your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum, this can be a great way to make therapy more affordable.

If your insurance plan doesn’t include mental health coverage or won’t reimburse out-of-network costs, you can use your HSA or FSA funds to cover the balance for individual mental health counseling.

While we’re unable to guarantee or estimate reimbursement amounts as an out-of-network provider, many of our clients have been reimbursed for a percentage of their session amounts after submitting a superbill for reimbursement to their insurance company after meeting any required deductibles or other threshold amounts.

Meet our therapists

My Denver Therapy is one of the largest woman-owned therapy private practices in Colorado with many of the best, most requested mental health therapists in the Denver Metro area.

As a therapist-owned practice with decades of combined experience, we care about seeing our clients heal, grow, and thrive. We’re one of the only therapy practices in Colorado with licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, addiction counselors, social workers, and psychiatric nurse practitioners who actively see new clients. Whether you’re an adult, teen, young adult, couple, or family, our inclusive therapist team is built to specialize in you.

Our practice started with one therapist in a shared office suite, but we’ve grown to help thousands of people in Colorado by providing in-person therapy at our conveniently located Denver Metro area counseling offices in Denver, Greenwood Village, and Lone Tree, plus online therapy for clients throughout Colorado. Because of the way our team works, our therapists also provide consultation for other therapists and private practices in the Denver Metro area.

Our inclusive therapists provide some of the most innovative, effective, and in-demand forms of therapy available today, including EMDR, Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, CBT, and IFS. We also have more therapists trained in Ketamine-assisted therapy, EMDR, and more teen therapists and young adult counselors than nearly every other private practice in Denver.

We know that clients want to find the best therapists in Denver, so our team includes therapists with different backgrounds, specialities, and experiences to help you find the right fit. We’ll match you with one of our therapists who is the best for your goals, location, budget, and schedule to help you get started quickly.

We’re out of network for insurance, Tricare, and are unable to take Medicaid, but most of our therapists’ rates are lower than the local and national averages for therapy.

All of our therapists take a client-focused approach to counseling and approach each session with  a commitment to your progress and growth.
