Frequently asked questions about therapy
Questions about our Denver therapists
When you’re getting started with therapy or looking for the right therapist, we know that you might have some questions. We want you to feel comfortable and informed before even starting therapy with us, so here are some answers to some common questions that people often have for us

WHERE ARE YOUR OFFICES LOCATED?
We have convenient Denver area locations in Denver, Greenwood Village, and Lone Tree. If you search on Google Maps for "My Denver Therapy," you can find the location closest to you.

WHERE DID YOUR THERAPISTS GET THEIR EDUCATION AND TRAINING?
All of our therapists have a Master’s level degree in a counseling or therapy-related field. Our therapists have trained at some of the most reputable and progressive places for therapy throughout Denver, Austin, and Los Angeles.
Because of our commitment to our clients, many of the largest churches and community organizations in Denver refer clients from their congregations and communities to us for therapy.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
We’re not in-network for any insurance companies, but we’re able to accept PPO insurance as out-of-network providers. In almost all cases, you can use an HSA or FSA to pay for or reimburse yourself for your sessions.

WHAT IF I’M LOOKING FOR A SPECIFIC TYPE OF THERAPY?
From Christian counseling to couples therapy, EMDR to IFS therapy, our therapists have experience with specific therapy modalities and experience with many different populations.

If I don’t live in Colorado, do you have other therapists that you recommend?
We have personal relationships many other therapists and organizations both locally and in other states. Here are some therapists and practices in other states that we refer our clients to when they’ve moved or are helping a friend find a therapist in another state.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
Sessions with our therapists start at $85 per session. The average cost of therapy in Denver ranges between $100-$150 per hour. To make our services accessible to more people, most of our therapists charge less than the local and national average for therapy in the United States. All of our therapists’ rates are listed on our website.

ARE YOU ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS?
We are accepting new clients for both in-person and online teletherapy. Many therapy offices in Denver aren't accepting new clients or have waitlists that are 3 months long or more. Because we have many therapists in multiple locations, we are generally able to get most people started with therapy in weeks not months.
If you’re looking for a therapist, we’ve also put together a set of questions to ask therapists in Denver when you’re interviewing them to see if they’re the right fit for you.

WILL YOU BE ABLE TO HELP ME?
That’s what we’re here for! We are committed to your success and want you to have a great experience with therapy. If we’re not the right fit for you or your schedule, we try to help you find the right fit by providing you with referrals.
While no therapist can specialize in everything, that's why we have therapists with different backgrounds and specialties to help you heal, grow, and succeed. Collectively, we’ve seen thousands of clients who have come to therapy for a wide variety of issues. We treat each person’s experience as something that’s unique to them. We’ll do our best to match you with one of our therapist who is the best fit for you.
