Therapy for Non-Binary Individuals in Denver

Our therapists provide a safe, affirming space for you to explore your gender identity and improve your mental health.

Meet with a non-binary or LGBTQ+ therapist in Denver

Are you a non-binary person in Denver seeking support and understanding? Or just looking for a therapist who has had a similar gender identity experience?

At My Denver Therapy, we provide a safe, affirming space for you to explore your gender identity and navigate the unique challenges you may face. We understand that being non-binary means your gender identity falls outside the traditional categories of “man” or “woman,” and we celebrate the diversity of gender experiences.

Understanding your non-binary experience

Many non-binary individuals experience a sense of not fitting in, even within the broader LGBTQ+ or transgender community. You might feel pressure to choose a side or face misunderstanding from those who don’t fully grasp the non-binary experience. You are not alone.

At My Denver Therapy, we recognize that your journey is valid and unique. We’ll help you find language to describe your experiences and understand the societal pressures you may face.

You may have questioned your gender identity for a long time, or perhaps you’ve recently come to understand yourself as non-binary. Regardless of where you are on your journey, we offer a supportive environment to explore your feelings, dismantle internalized societal expectations, and embrace your authentic self. We can help you connect with your inner self, understand the messages you received growing up, and explore your gender expression without judgment.

Gender Affirming Therapy for Non-Binary Individuals Therapy

Gender Affirming Therapy affirms and supports your gender identity without attempting to change it. We understand that being non-binary is a valid and authentic experience. Our therapists offer a range of support, including:

  • Talk therapy: Explore your gender identity, navigate complex emotions, and develop coping strategies for dealing with societal pressures and discrimination.
  • Connecting with community: We can connect you with local non-binary support groups and resources in Denver.
  • Addressing mental health concerns: We provide therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges that may be impacting your well-being.

The Importance of community

Finding a supportive community is crucial for non-binary individuals. Connecting with others who share similar experiences can be incredibly validating and empowering. At My Denver Therapy, we can help you connect with local resources and support groups in Denver specifically for non-binary individuals.

We believe in the power of shared experience and understand the importance of having a safe space to connect with others who understand your journey.

Addressing mental health challenges

Anxiety and depression are common among non-binary individuals due to societal pressures, discrimination, and lack of understanding.

You may experience anxiety about being accepted, fear surrounding coming out, and the potential for depression to follow. We also understand that non-binary individuals may experience unique challenges related to “passing,” navigating medical transitions (if desired), and finding affirming relationships.

We provide compassionate support to address these challenges and help you develop coping mechanisms to navigate a world that may not always understand.

Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are.

Meet our therapists

My Denver Therapy is one of the largest therapy private practices in Colorado with many of the best, most requested mental health therapists in the Denver Metro area.

As a therapist-owned practice with over 100 years of combined experience, we care about seeing our clients heal, grow, and thrive. We’re one of the only therapy practices in Colorado with licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, addiction counselors, social workers, and psychiatric nurse practitioners who actively see new clients in person and online.

Whether you’re an adult, teen, young adult, couple, or family, our inclusive therapist team is built to specialize in clients of all ages, faiths, backgrounds, and life experiences.

Our practice started with one therapist in a shared office suite, but we’ve grown to help thousands of people in Colorado by providing in-person therapy at our conveniently located Denver Metro area counseling offices in Denver, Greenwood Village, and Lone Tree, plus online therapy for clients throughout Colorado. Because of the way our team works and has grown over time, our therapists also provide consultation for other therapists and private practices throughout the Denver Metro area.

Our therapists provide some of the most innovative, effective, and in-demand forms of therapy available today, including EMDR, Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, and IFS. We also have more therapists trained in Ketamine-assisted therapy, EMDR, and more teen therapists and young adult counselors than nearly every other private practice in Denver.

We know that our clients want to find the best therapists in Denver, so our team includes therapists of different ages with a wide range of backgrounds, specialities, and experiences to help you find the right fit. We’ll match you with one of our therapists who is the best for your goals, location, budget, schedule, and what you want to work on to help you get started quickly.

We’re out of network for insurance, Tricare, and are unable to take Medicaid or Medicare, but most of our therapists’ rates are lower than the local and national averages for therapy. Also, we don’t charge separate intake or administration fees or charge more for specialized therapy methods like EMDR.

All of our therapists take a client-focused approach to counseling and approach each session with  a commitment to your progress and growth.
