What makes My Denver Therapy different?

In-person therapy in 3 physical locations

Even after COVID, many Denver therapy offices have stayed teletherapy-only. It helps therapy practices save money, but we've found that it's not what most clients want. Our therapists provide therapy in-person in our Denver, Greenwood Village, and Lone Tree offices. We also provide online teletherapy for clients who prefer it

Help with prescriptions

We are one of the only therapy private practices in Denver that also has a psychiatric nurse practitioner on our team who can help clients with medication management and prescriptions. As one of the leading providers of Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in Denver, we can help clients get the medication they need without going to multiple places.

Specialized trainings

Our therapists are trained in some of the most requested types of therapy today, including EMDR, IFS, Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, Gottman Method for couples therapy, and more. Because it's impossible for one therapist to specialize in everything, we've brought together a group of therapists who have different trainings and talents that help us give our clients the help they're looking for.

Lower RATES

Sessions with our therapists start at $85 per session, and we clearly list each of our therapists' rates on our website. If you're looking for a therapist in Denver and can't find their rates, that could be a red flag. For reference, the average cost of therapy in Denver is about $150 per hour. Our rates are below the national average, and each therapist has a limited number of sliding scale clients.

(Almost always) Accepting new clients

Many therapy practices aren't accepting new clients or have waitlists that are months long. For most people, we'll get you connected with one of our therapists in about a day. Nationally, the average waitlist to see a therapist is about 6 weeks.

Because we have a larger team of therapists, we work together to make sure we have availability for new clients. We usually only have a short wait when someone is looking for a very specific type of therapy or needs a very specific time. Our most experienced therapists also provide therapy for therapists.

Lance Hill

(MA, LPC)
·

Lance works with clients in our Denver and Greenwood Village offices who are recovering from trauma, have complex relationships with family or friends, and want to improve their self-confidence and live a fuller life. He loves to work with clients who are strongly motivated to go deep in the therapy room and explore how patterns of unhealth may have formed at an earlier point in their life.

Lance is a down-to-earth guy who ensures that therapy is a safe, non-judgemental experience by creating a space that feels nurturing and safe. His hope is that this kind of space invites you to process whatever is on your heart and mind. He’s primarily focused on cultivating a unique approach to working with you as you are.

His primary training is in EMDR, a tool that can help clients reprocess unresolved feelings that are causing distress in life. He also uses Internal Family Systems, a popular therapy approach that aims to honor and accept each part of a person. Because he understands that you are a unique person and have unique experiences that you are bringing into therapy, he tailors therapy to your specific needs.

Lance is originally from Arkansas, but has called Colorado home for over 10 years. Lance earned his Bachelor’s Degree in philosophy from Taylor University. He met his wife, who is also a therapist, and they both earned their Master’s Degrees from Denver Seminary. They both love to process therapeutic topics together as well as raise their feisty little rescue dog named Betty.

Lance is a huge nerd and loves to discuss all things related to Marvel comics, Harry Potter, as well as music. He started a podcast with his best friend where they focus on the music of Wilco (never heard of them? You’re welcome!). Lance is eager to make a connection with you and would love to come alongside as a new teammate in your growth.

JELLY BEAN

(THERAPY DOG, GOOD GIRL)

Jelly is a confident, 2-year-old French bulldog with a personality bigger than she is. As a Colorado native, when she’s not working, Jelly loves the outdoors, including hiking, finding sticks, and playing in the snow.

With a natural zest for life, Jelly has an innate ability to warm the hearts of people she interacts with. She’s a certified animal assisted therapy dog and works with her human companion and co-therapist, Allie Evans, at My Denver Therapy.

While Jelly isn’t a barker, she chirps when she wants attention or needs something from you because she knows how important it is to share her feelings. This Frenchie is a huge cuddler and has developed an ability to self-soothe by curling up next to you and gently nursing on her blanket—two of her coping skills she’s mastered to relax and settle down (and they create perfect opportunities to give her some pats!).

Jelly doesn’t get startled easily, and she’s quick to submit if she feels dominant energy from other furry friends. To develop a strong relationship with Jelly, throw a ball or ask her to do one of her many tricks. She loves attention, but asks not to be approached from above because she sets healthy boundaries. She loves when people approach her on her level with an outstretched hand.

As one of My Denver Therapy’s most popular therapists, Jelly maintains a strong point of view on many things, including her favorite treats and love for sleeping and snoring loudly. Some say she’s sleeping on the job, but she knows rest is important for her to be at her best for her clients.

With her extensive training and natural abilities, Jelly is ready to sit alongside clients with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or any type of emotional distress. She can’t wait to meet you.
